The Day I Truly Saw the Magic in a Raw Ethiopian Opal
I’d like to share a story with you to illustrate that a product isn't always exactly as it appears at first glance. Let me tell you about my experience purchasing gemstones. I don't mean to sound negative, but when I first bought a raw Ethiopian opal, I was deeply disappointed. Afterward, I conducted extensive research, and finally—I found exactly what I was looking for.
And honestly, it is truly amazing! It felt like a miracle had occurred; as I turn the stone in different directions, its colors shift and change right before my eyes.
Let me clarify: Welo opals and Ethiopian opals are essentially the same thing—though not *exactly* identical.
Welo is a specific region within Ethiopia where these opals are mined; hence, they are known as "Welo Ethiopian Opals." There are other regions as well where these stones are sourced—such as the Gondar Region—among many others.
So, you might be wondering: why is my research helpful to you?
Often, it is difficult to distinguish between a genuine stone and a fake one; you cannot easily identify the difference. You need to inspect it carefully; if it is authentic, it will be accompanied by a certificate. I conducted thorough research before finally finding my way to Armonia Gems.
The reason I did this is that I had initially purchased one for just $2 or $3, thinking I was getting a bargain. However, when I received the product, I realized it didn't look anything like a genuine opal should. Consequently, I had to buy one all over again. As I mentioned, I did a great deal of research, and this time, I decided not to let the price be a deciding factor.
Ultimately, I purchased one from Armonia Gems for $250. When I finally received the product, I was absolutely delighted because it displayed such vibrant "play of color" (fire). I am simply sharing my experience with you; ultimately, the choice of where to make your purchase is entirely up to you.
